Veterans build businesses on Amazon


– When I got out of the Marine Corps, I ran a franchise restaurant business, and the recession hit us very hard. I was out looking for a plan B. – Well, I joined the Marine Corps in 2015, right after high school. I
did two deployments overseas. – I served for 11 years on active duty. – I served from 2015 to 2019. – Embassy security guard. – Marine Corps Infantry. – Water survival instructor. – I was a mortarman. – Now I’m an Amazon seller. – And now I’m an Amazon seller. – I don’t think most people understand, more than half of the Amazon marketplace is represented by
entrepreneurs like myself. CozyPhones really is a
born-on-Amazon brand, and for us, has been life-changing. We sell hundreds of thousands
of units every year. – Um, it’s cozy. – This is Sam, he’s one of my neighbors and one of my product testers. – They’re pretty good. – Yeah? I don’t have to worry
about packaging and sending all of my products to
individual customers. Amazon can do that for me. – My brand is Coastline Vine, and I sell wine tumblers
and wine growlers. I’ve learned a lot from my dad. The military definitely
did give me the structure I needed to help me run
and build my business. – I’m very proud of Jake’s service. – Well, I always wanted to be a Marine, even from when I was a kid. I’d say it really is
like a band of brothers. – The one thing I’m
passionate about is seeing veterans succeed as entrepreneurs. – There’s a lot of stories about veterans who get out of the service,
and then they struggle. – And I think that
Amazon is one of the best vehicles for them to succeed.
